Welcome to FastTrax Speedway.net

FastTrax Speedway is located 4 miles Southeast of Chatham, Louisiana (Postal/Code 71226 to find Chatham, using an online map). FastTrax Speedway is one of the most spectacular displays of motor-sports in Northern Louisiana. The wide straight-aways, and wide turns, are infamous for producing two and sometimes three wide racing, which makes this track a very competitive “short track” each and every weekend.

FastTrax Speedway roars into action each Saturday night throughout the summer. A full lineup of the best driving talent from across Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas and Mississippi invade “FastTrax Speedway of Chatham, La" each week in the quest for the checkered flag, which showcases some of the fiercest competition around.

We would also like to extend a warm welcome to the Cruiser class. Fast Trax Speedway added this class to their racing format at the beginning of the 2007 Racing Season. Race fans are eager to see this class each week, and would be thrilled to see this class grow into something big for this area. It's a great way to get started in the sport of racing, and also an excellent way for racers in other classes to get other family members (wives, sons, daughters, etc.) involved in something we all love so much.

The return of Late Models had fans on the edge by admin

Late Models return, as Taylor, Prince & Frish fight for top spot

By FTS press

We look forward to racing this Friday night. The staff at FTS can’t thank everyone enough for the great turn out Friday night. We had 80 cars in the pits and a packed house for the Easter bunny. The kids during intermission did an Easter egg hunt and if you had a special number in your egg, you won more prizes. Attention drivers and owners and team members: We know with jobs and money, the way things are today, we would like to personally say THANK YOU. We can’t do this without any of you. We appreciate every one of you on a wor kday coming out and supporting us and making FTS the place to race. You all are the reason why we are AMERICA’S DIRT TRACK.

It’s been nearly a year since FTS has seen late models battling it out weekly on the º mile oval. It seemed around a 100-mile radius of Chatham, late models have been the talk, with series’ closing the doors and drivers worried about the class just dying. This was not the case Friday night. 15 late models showed up, making this a premier to remember. As the high-powered machines pulled out on the speedway for heat one, long time veteran driver #T49 Raymond Taylor did not waste anytime starting to battle it out with #10 Jody Prince. These guys had taken the fierce action into the feature. Marcus Frish driving the #43F was on the move when the green came out, jumping all over the back bumper of #10 of Prince, giving Taylor a little distance from them two. Prince found his line and went after Taylor. #4X Williams & #11JR Morris had a great race going on for 4th and 5th, but they ran out of laps, giving Raymond Taylor the victory. We all know we have a long road to rebuild this division. The fans and drivers love to see the late models at FTS. We can’t thank all of you enough for the great turn out Friday night. As of press time, we are deciding if we will be running Late Models this Friday night. They have a big double points race on Saturday and FTS wants to work with all the drivers so they have a home at FTS.

The Hobson & Son Dirt Works Modifieds saw great side-by-side racing all over the speedway. The battle between the top five was from start to finish. Moving up into the Modifieds this season is #25 Dougie Murphrey & #X Bud Mullins. For nearly the whole 20 laps, these 2 fought back & forth for position. Running up front with these two were #H1 Kent Hollingsworth, #JP5 Lee Patton and the unstoppable #6X Kyle Pleasant. The guys fought each other until the #H1 cut a tire, bringing out a caution and resetting the field for one last fight to the finish. When the green came out, Pleasant had Patton all over him while the racing for 3rd,4th,& 5th went on. On the white flag lap, Pleasant got a little out of shape, giving Patton one more try for the win, but Pleasant was able to hold on for his 3rd win of the ‘09 season. Congrats goes out to Bud Mullins, son of Late Model veteran Bubba Mullins. for doing a great job and being a contender his second week in one of the toughest divisions, & #47 of Randy Thompson for doing a great job and getting his first top five finish for the 2009 racing season.

Bullet Proof Tees Sportmods had all top five racers trying to beat #99D Scott Duke. #6Volt Cody Harger was all over the #99D, trying his best to make a move, but he had a back bumper full of #B99 Ben Leedy, #54 Dusty Myers, & #22 of Chad Traxler. As the race went on, Traxler was in the fight of his new racing career trying to get around Myers. Back up front, Harger tried everything he could to make the move on Duke, but he ran out of time, giving Duke his second win of the season.

Wide Open Motorsports Street Stocks has had its battles over the past few weeks, but nothing like we saw Friday night between the #10 of Jesse Mills & the #21H of Rodney Howell. From the start of the feature, these two were all over each other, door to door banging each other until they raced into turn three and got into each other, sending Howell airborn and back down hard on all four wheel. This helped the #210 of Joe Rachael get into the race after his battle for 3rd with the #7 of Casey Hobson. Rachael worked on Howell for a few laps and finally took second away while going after your leader Mills. With a few laps to go Rachael gave it one last try, but fell short, giving the #10 of Jesse Mills his first win of the season. Mills did a great job earning this one with everyone all over his back bumper. The #210 was definitely the hard charger of this race. Great job Joe.

Feature WINNER #10 Jesse Mills 2nd #210 Joe Rachael 3rd #21H Rodney Howell 4th #7 Casey Hobson 5th #2X Michael Hutson

Heat one- 1st #7 Casey Hobson 2nd #10 Jesse Mills 3rd 2X Michael Hutson 4th #88 Jolly Jordan Jr 4th #5 Chris Barmore

Heat two- 1st #21H Rodney Howell 2nd #210 Joe Rachael 3rd #0 Jamie Howell 4th #11 Bo Johnson 5th #12 Justin Decuit

Tip Toe Chassis Pure Stocks saw a division full of hard luck this season, from #24 Stanley Patrick having engine problems to #442 Flyin’ Bryan Baker breaking a power steering line, taking him out of this weeks’ feature, & #00 Jamie Shirley, who was as sick as a person could be racing Friday night. WAIT! Did I just say Flyin’ Bryan Baker was out of the race because of a power steering hose? Race cars back in the day, they didn’t have power steering. We had to put both feet up on the dashboard, both hands on the steering wheel, and turn it. Did I mention this was up hill in a hurricane? Can someone please bring Flyin’ Bryan a set of weights to the track this week? Hahahahaha. We are just teasing Bryan. We hope everyone gets the gremlins worked out. This gave a proud win and a big smile to the man of the night, looking for his first win of the season, the #5C James "Chicken Man" Freeman, who fought off a hard charging #9 Rocky Burk, who did what ever he could to take this win away from Chicken Man, but he just could not find that right line, and Chicken Man, in his first night out, won his first feature of the season.

Feature WINNER #5C James "Chicken Man Freeman 2nd #9 Rocky Burk 3rd #62 Jimmy Jones 4th #00 Jamie Shirley 5th #24 Stanley Patrick

Heat one-1st #0 (DQ) 1st #5 James "Chicken Man" Freeman 2nd #442 Bryan Baker 3rd #00 Jamie Shirley 4th #62 Jimmy Jones 5th #20 Jason Page

Heat two- 1st #9 Rocky Burk 2nd #24 Stanley Patrick 3rd #15 Tyler Hernandez 4th #17 KC Patrick

The Young Guns has become a great division to watch. They are young kids trying to get started in racing. But you could not tell these kids are rookies. As soon as they got the green, they all took off racing into turn one. #3K Tanner Kellick made it clear he wanted the lead and took it. #12B TJ Bond was not going to let up. He tried everything he could to get around Kellick, finally getting a little loose, allowing Kellick to get away. The caution came out with 7 laps to go, bunching up the field once again. As Kellick paraded around the track waiting on the green, something went wrong with his engine, but he remained out on the track, leading the pack. When the green was waved, Bond wasted no time going after Kellick, once again using every part of the track he could. But this was the night for the #3K and Tanner found himself in victory and winning his first Young Guns feature. If you want to get your son our daughter into racing, try the Young Guns. These kids are learning, but having a great time doing it. Also a great job to #11P Tanna Morris for her feature finish. Great Job Tanna.

Feature WINNER #3K Tanner Kellick 2nd #12B TJ Bond 3rd #11P Tanna Morris 4th #21Jr Dalton Patrick

Heat one- #3K Tanner Kellick 2nd #21Jr Dalton Patrick 3rd #11P Tanna Morris 4th 12B TJ Bond

The wild & crazy Stockers were so exciting to watch. The return of the #5T Austin "Rocket" Trichell had everyone wondering was this his night. It’s so nice to see all of these guys week after week battling it out for a feature win. This night was no exception. #84 John Smith did not waste any time getting out front. But he had #90 Ricky Jordan & the "Rocket" chasing him down. The "Rocket" worked on Jordan for a few laps, but Jordan did a great job holding him off. As that battle continued, #9 Dennis Parker and the #17 Dustin Trim raced their wheels off trying to catch everyone else. Smith never looked back, bringing him into victory lane for the first time in his racing career. In Smiths’ first race last year, he rolled his car over several times in a bad crash. That was the same car he won the feature with. Great Job everyone.

Feature WINNER #84 John Smith 2nd #90 Ricky Jordan 3rd 5T Austin "Rocket" Trichell 4th #M12 Nick Murphey 5th #9 Dennis Parker 6th #17 Dustin Trim

Smith never looked back, bringing him into victory lane for the first time in his racing career. In Smiths’ first race last year, he rolled his car over several times in a bad crash. That was the same car he won the feature with. Great Job everyone. Feature WINNER #84 John Smith 2nd #90 Ricky Jordan 3rd 5T Austin “Rocket” Trichell 4th #M12 Nick Murphey 5th #9 Dennis Parker 6th #17 Dustin Trim
