Crate Model?

Just copied this off of Baton Rouge forum, what does everyone think?

BATON ROUGE RACEWAY BECOMES FIRST LOUISIANA TRACK TO JOIN THE STORMPAY.COM WRS

CARTERSVILLE, GA – Baton Rouge Raceway in Baton Rouge, LA has become the first dirt track in Louisiana to sign up for the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series for the 2007 season.  Baton Rouge Raceway operates on Friday nights, and the Baton Rouge Raceway Crate Late Model Division will compete under the rulebook of the StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series.

Baton Rouge Raceway Crate Late Model competitors will have an opportunity to compete for two separate point funds.  In addition to a track point fund, Baton Rouge Raceway Crate Late Model drivers will also compete against drivers at other StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series tracks for a Regional point fund.

The StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Regional points season for sanctioned tracks throughout the country begins on March 30 and runs through September 30.  Drivers will earn Regional points during this period, with their best 16 finishes counting toward their point totals.

“We see weekly late model racing moving towards the crate engine, and we felt the time was right to get onboard with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series,” Baton Rouge Raceway promoter Greg Holmes said.  “We had a lot of drivers in the Super Late Model Division that used to race full time parking their race cars because they couldn’t afford to race every week.  With the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, they now have an affordable opportunity to race a late model every week.”

The engines for the dirt late models competing with the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series are GM Performance Crate Engines.  They are built and sealed at the factory to prevent competitors from making any expensive modifications.

The GM Performance Crate engines are shipped to GM Dealers throughout the country, and are readily available to be picked up and placed in the race car the same day.  The aluminum-head 400 horsepower 604 engine sells for right at $5,000, and the steel-head 350 horsepower 602 engine sells for right at $3,000.  The 602 engine also gets a 150-pound weight break.

“The addition of Baton Rouge Raceway as a Friday night track in the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series opens the door for the possibility of forming a new Region,” StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series President of Operations and Communications Roby Helm said.  “We are still talking with several race tracks about being sanctioned by the StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series, so we’ll have to see how things look geographically in the coming weeks.”

Helm said Baton Rouge Raceway should get plenty of support for their StormPay.com Weekly Racing Series Crate Late Model Division.

“We had a lot of StormPay.com Dirt Late Model Series members last season from Louisiana that competed at several of our Saturday night sanctioned tracks in Mississippi ,” Helm said.  “The Fri
